McClung-Logan Gives High School Students Virtual Tour of Facility

McClung-Logan Technical Support Manager Dan Hensley trains a group of students on Volvo Construction Equipment

On January 6th, McClung-Logan’s Technical Support Manager Dan Hensley was given the opportunity to present a live virtual tour of the company’s Richmond branch to students from the Advanced Career Education (ACE) Center at Hermitage, part of the Henrico County Public School System in Virginia. Dan was approached by David Osborne, the Diesel Technology Instructor at ACE Center, to show his diesel technology students what it’s like to work inside a full-service equipment dealership.

McClung-Logan was able to provide these students with an in depth perspective on how their service facilities operate and describe the ways that diesel technicians apply their knowledge and skills to help customers. The students were given the opportunity to get a guided behind-the-scenes look at the operations of a successful full-service facility.

In addition to answering the students’ questions, Dan provided an overview of McClung-Logan’s capabilities and led a discussion with the students about the landscape of the diesel industry.

McClung-Logan was grateful that the ACE Center presented them with the opportunity to showcase their capabilities to the next generation of diesel technicians. The ML company has already been asked to give additional students a tour next year, in hopes that it will be in-person. We want to thank Dan for not only showcasing a potential career path to these students, but also for encouraging them to follow their passions and continue on their journey in the industry.

“It was an honor to supply these students with knowledge and information that will help them be successful in their future careers. I just hope they enjoyed taking the tour as much as I did giving it.”
